Steve Blankenship, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, is the founder of Heritage Financial Planning. Steve founded Heritage Financial Planning in order to be a beacon among the overwhelming quantity and all too often biased financial advice that is prevalent in the marketplace today. “Heritage is a different type of financial planning firm in that we provide our clients with advice and planning that is customized to their individual situations, dreams and realities,” Steve says. He likes to think of each client’s situation as being similar to a fingerprint; unique to each individual. Heritage embraces this reality and aspires to provide the best financial advice available customized to each individual’s particular situation.
In order to provide the most objective and best-suited advice to its clients, Steve insisted that Heritage be operated as a fee-only firm. “By working in a Fee-Only manner, we are able to remove conflicts of interest regarding compensation since we do not receive any commissions or sales incentives for the strategies we recommend,” he said. This model has received national acclaim from experts in personal finance including the likes of Jonathan Clements and Jane Bryant Quinn.
Steve earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baylor University, where he majored in Financial Services and Planning and was awarded “Most Outstanding Student in Financial Services and Planning.”
Prior to founding Heritage Financial Planning, Steve worked in a variety of positions in the financial planning industry including the Wealth Management practices of both Ernst & Young, LLP, and Arthur Andersen, LLP. He also served clients at Quest Capital Management and State Farm Insurance earlier in his career. Steve’s wide range of experience has allowed him to work with and be mentored by four planners who were ultimately named to Worth Magazine’s Top Financial Advisors in America.
Steve is a member of NAPFA (National Association of Personal Financial Advisors) the nation's largest association of fee-only financial planners and FPA (Financial Planning Association).
