Mary Chastain, a Registered Financial Planner® and Investment Advisor Representative, serves as the Chief Compliance Officer at Heritage Financial Planning. She is responsible for firm compliance and oversight.
As an Investment Advisor Representative, Mary supports the firm by identifying potential clients and promoting the investment model to potential investors.
Mary began her career in the financial industry in 1994 and has served in different capacities throughout her tenure, including director of trading, director of operations, and director of marketing and development. She also started a company that provided back-office support for financial firms, which she phased out to work for an RIA firm as the director of operations and marketing where she was instrumental in saving the firm thousands of dollars in reorganizing software platforms.
Mary has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Walden University and holds a FINRA Series 65 license. She has completed the CFP® certification courses at the College of Financial Planning and is a candidate to sit for the exam.
Mary resides in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She is a pillar in her local community as an avid supporter of the visual and performing arts, where she serves on various committees, volunteers with community fundraising efforts, and is a go-to person when things need to get done. She loves traveling and spending time with her family. Mary has two children and two grandchildren. She enjoys watching Alabama football, St. Louis Cardinals, and the 2020 Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs.
